Happy ever aftering.....

Robert Goulet dies at age 73

Camelot was one of my favorite musicals. He will be missed at the JGC compound.

Military Body Armor Supplier Charged With Fraud

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced the filing of securities fraud charges against David H. Brooks, the former Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board at DHB Industries, Inc., a major supplier of body armor to the U.S. military and law enforcement agencies.

Immune Disorder

We got immunity, we just don't know where we got it. Maybe it fell off the back of a truck?

Immunity Deals Offered to Blackwater Guards

The State Department investigators from the agency’s investigative arm, the Bureau of Diplomatic Security, offered the immunity grants even though they did not have the authority to do so, the officials said. Prosecutors at the Justice Department, who do have such authority, had no advance knowledge of the arrangement, they added.

Where do I start? Of COURSE this stinks to high heaven. The head of the BDS has quit. I'm sure he just wants to "spend more time with his family."

I'm going to dial up my psychic powers and predict what will happen to these Blackwater guys................

NOT A DAMN THING!!!

Oh sure, they might get a letter placed in their "permanant record", but nothing of substance will happen to these men who killed seventeen people. SEVENTEEN!! Most serial killers don't hit numbers like that. Those people don't count because they are Iraqis. God only cares about dead Americans, right? And these same people may be able to just switch to another company, like Dyncorp, and keep working in Iraq.

Let's not forget the damage this is doing to US/Iraq relations. Iraqi Prime Minister Maliki called this a criminal act and an internal Iraqi inquiry found that the Blackwater mercenaries were "100% guilty". They want Blackwater out of the country. They want the right to prosecute offenders. Who can blame them? So far all we have promised is "more oversight". We know what that is worth.

Mukasey: Waterboarding is Torture if It's Torture

Listening to Mukasey makes my head hurt. I keep trying to make sense of this but it does not compute. I don't know who his Constitutional Law professor was, but I NEVER could have gotten away with answers like that in law school. Hell, I couldn't have gotten away with an answer like that in high school. -JoyGirl

When shopping for the loved ones in your life this holiday season, don't forget to visit Blackwater's Pro Shop. Personally, I am waiting for the "My Dad Can Torture Better Than Your Dad" shirts for the wee ones.

Full props go to Chris Nakashima-Brown who I completely ripped off for this post. (Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?) He is an AMAZING fiction writer, and this is from a girl who doesn't like fiction. Check out his stuff.

Blackwater may be facing it's own torturous nightmare from the scariest governtment agency out there. Karma's a bitch.

GO SOX!!!
I am hoping the Sox take the World Series in 4 games. Not because I give a rat's ass about sports, but because I don't want Kitchen Nightmares to be pre-empted again. Plus, I'll get to see actual rat's asses!

Monday Morning Quarterbacking

Don't worry, I'm not going to talk about football. We just wanted to do a wrap up of the important and inane from the weekend, along with our pithy commentary.

Obama Won't Wear An American Flag Lapel Pin
JGC says -- Good for him. Men have no business wearing jewlery. They get a wedding ring and a watch. That is all they need. BTW- why in the hell was Obama's 6 year old fashion decision a top story?

"Government says Tasers are Safe"
JGC says -- Well yeah, compared to getting SHOT. Does any part of taser training include the officers getting tased? It should.

UK Cutting Iraq Troops to 2,500
JGC says -- I guess Gordo has enough sense to abandon a sinking ship.

Britney & Her Mom Make Amends, Lindsey Leaves Rehab

JGC says- -- WHY DID I HEAR ABOUT THIS ON CNN??????

Everything that is wrong with America....

can be summed up in 2 words "The Bachelor", or as I like to call it "Whore Parade." No one has ever accused me of being sensitive when it comes to matters of gender (or the heart for that matter) but seriously, this show just makes all humanity look bad. I don't want to be in the same species as those women.

If you are inclined to watch such garbage, watch this instead. It has an amusing Robert E. Howard reference and is loosely based on "The Rules".

Speaking of fluff and trash, Katie Couric & Elizabeth Palmer did a puff piece on Blackwater last night on the CBS evening news. I thought my head was going to explode.

Brother, can you spare a Loonie?

It doesn't seem that long ago that I crossed the northern border, hopped up on ephedra and Amish sauerkraut balls, in search of bargains. I found a "Property of Deggrassi High" shirt at a thrift store and had the best fries ever. Everything was dirt cheap because the dollar was booming.

Now, the bargains are no more. The dollar is in record low territoty. What does that mean for us? If you're in the export biz, it is happy days. For the rest of us, it means just about everything is more expensive.

Economics isn't sexy, but it sure as hell is real. Here's what someone who knows more than me had to say about it.
